Gerrys Landing - Eliot Bridge
Cambridge, Massachusetts 02139

Things you need to remember
**we
will have a number of re-cycle barrels with tops on them and a small hole carved into
them for plastic bottles!
*Taking nine (9) bottles of water or juice post race
from the gray coolers while many are still out on the run or walk is rude!!
There isn't a "infinite" supply of this stuff in those coolers!! Take one (1)
and then come back for another if you like BUT please do not
help yourself to a six-pack:>) ANDDDDDDDDDDD if someone say's to you PLEASE only
take one...don't rip them a new you know what, okay...we have
no desire to hoard what is available NOR get in a fist fight over nonsense like
this....we dig slowah runnahs and walkahs and we wanna make sure they get stuff
to!!
*Bring a bottle of water with you pre-race..we
have a very
limited supply pre-race but plenty post race & supplied by OWater!!
Purchasing
a bottle before you come helps the Massachusetts economy!!

1.
The 4.2 Run & Walk begins at
7:30
P.M. Sharp
and on the other side of the below tunnel behind the Marsh Post

The above is one of two tunnels under the Eliot
Bridge which spans the Charles River
1a.
If any runner or walker is found to have crossed onto the road to run or walk
without direction..
..you will be immediately taken
off the course by the
Massachusetts State Police:>)
-three
were disqualified from the 2010 "Reggae Ramble" for not following this rule!!
2.
All Pre-Ordered Merchandise is to be picked up prior to the start and
inside the American Legion Marsh Post from 6:30 P.M. &
7:15 P.M.
-you will not be able to pick-up merchandise
after the run & walk, all merchandise not picked up
at the required time is given out to volunteers or donated to the Salvation
Army--be forewarned!!
-THERE ARE NO CIRCUMSTANCES THAT
WILL CHANGE THE ABOVE-
3.
All Race Registration
Problems
(you did not get your bib or wristband in the mail)
are to be handled inside the American Legion Marsh Post from 6:30 P.M. &
7:15 P.M.
*you will enter the American Legion Marsh Post #442 at the door to the left*
4.
All Bib#'s & Wristbands are in the process of being mailed out as of
07/20/10
-we mail to the address you provided-
5. Directions, Parking & MBTA access
NO
AVAILABLE PARKING AT THE AMERICAN LEGION MARSH POST #442
We will be towing all cars that park in the Marsh
Post--cars without a special tag on the dash board are being towed
5A. NO PARKING ON GREENOUGH BOULEVARD - UNLESS A PARK
RANGER OR STATE TROOPER STATES IT IS OKAY
and if they allow it make sure not even an inch of your car is in the driving
lane-NOT AN INCH-no joke!!!
6.
No Alcohol on the grass--Alcohol
must not leave the confines of the
American Legion Marsh Post #442 or concrete patio in front of the band!
If you are found outside of the orange fences with beer you will be TOLD to
leave- immediatly!!
The State Police arrested four couples for public drinking at the
Reggae
Ramble in 2009
-they
walked off with beer and got caught....public drinking is illegal!!
TELLING US YOU DIDN'T KNOW -WON'T CHANGE THE ABOVE OR BELOW- It
just means
you did not take this
"List of Things" that important and thats a NO-NO with this
Race Director!!
We had numerous folks jumping ovah the
fences at last years Get Yer Ya-Ya's Out-we did not kick
anyone out ..that will change this time around! If you are
caught climbing ovah the fences you will
be heaved ovah backwards and then tossed into the Charles Rivah:>) This is
nonsense stuff that will not be tolerated any longah!!
We at the American Legion Marsh Post are very responsible when dispensing alcohol
at our events--we expect
you to
deal with alcohol in a responsible manner:>)
If you do not look
OLDER THAN 21
then you will be asked for an I.D.
- Don't be surprised:>)
We also walk thru the crowd checking I.D.s....if you are found to be underage
and drinking
you will be escorted away by the Massachusetts State Police that we have as paid
details -
we do not mess around with underage drinking...a number of off-duty police
officer's are running..
I have plenty of help if need be:>)

7. For those of you who litter--it
isn't cool:>)
Please consider that ALL who get permits for these events on the Charles
River are at the mercy of those in
state government
as well as
conservation watch dogs that watch an event directors every
move--littering from those
participating is a big issue! There are numerous barrels on-site.
Leaving your water bottle about is littering--you wouldn't leave it on your
front lawn--so
don't leave it on Charles River land--put it in a barrel or plastic bag for
disposal-we have barrels everywhere!!
All violators will be escorted off
the property immediately!!
I am not a PC type of person
(I am sure you have figured this out:>)-so don't take
my upfront comments about litter
for
anything more than what they are and meant to achieve:>)

The Eliot Bridge and it's entirety spanning the
Charles River
8. Everyone must have a bib# or a wristband to be on location
NO WRISTBANDS OR BIB#'S WILL BE SOLD ON RACE NIGHT, WE ARE AT MAX. CAPACITY
NOW!!
8A.
No Check-In for personal stuff,
you are responsible for your own personal
stuff.
9. Those that report that they did not
receive their bib#, are reassigned a new bib# and then the
original bib#
assigned shows up on the results..will not be allowed back to one of these
events.
There were many folks in 2008 & 2009 who have stated they lost a bib# or
did not receive
and
were then reassigned who had passed the original on to a
friend--we caught all:>)
-Very clever, but still
stealing-
9A. No passing on your bib to a friend cause you can not make it!! If we catch
you
reassigning your bib number you will not be allowed to attend another event.
We caught
6 doing at the June 2010 "Reggae Ramble & Music Festival" and all were eliminated from the
results
and series-the money for other races registered was donated to the Marsh Post...folks taking pics always catch you
This endangers our insurance!!
10.

American Legion Marsh Post Running
Series
12. Marathon Sports Jerry Garcia Memorial
River Run & Walk results will be posted at
www.coolrunning.com on Friday after the race
It is your responsibility to check the results to make sure that you are
included - stuff happens!!
If you plan to run or walk all five to
get the jacket and you notice weeks later that you are not in
the results ..yer
problemo not ours!!! We will not make changes-timing is not a perfect science as
some seem to think..remember the 1986 Red Sox or ..nothing is perfect folks!!
13. We are not allowing strollers in 2010
-The Massachusetts State Police will be monitoring this-
14. We always have an ambulance staffed
with trained EMT's at the finish line or abouts..if you
have a medical problem
or know of someone who does..please see one of the gals at the finish line.
