not alter your racing bib and it must be worn on the top front
of your body not
your back, thigh or arse:>)
6. Funky Course Map
&
Where Our Post Race Sponsors Are Located

The Precinct & The Independent in Union
Square are also part of the post race festivities

7. There is no "personal belongings" drop off location

You are responsible for your own belongings so plan accordingly
I would have a mate have a dry tee for you at one of the pubs and if you
die for the race tees and who doesn't..then pick up your bib, & race tee on one
of the pre-race dates or real early on race day:>) Cause
we will not be responsible if you lose on race
day!
8. Who are our
financial beneficiaries - You Ask?

Besides a
$15,000.00 cash donation
to the "Toys For Local Children"
we are also organizing a toy drop - off on the 12th,
13th,
14th, 15th, 16th & 17th. So if you are the generous type who thinks of folks
less fortunate like
Marathon Sports, Olde Magoun's Saloon, myself and many others do then please feel free to bring
along
a toy donation
on one of the above dates when you pick up your bib & race tee shirt

$15,000.00 donation made in
November 2011 @ The Burren
-you would be shocked at how few races actually financially support running and
physical
fitness-
The
Somerville Striders Athletic Club
has been supporting Somerville High
School
Track & Field for
10+ years and this year we are very happy to be continuing our relationship
with the Medford High School & Wakefield High School Track & Field Programs-
Kids from each high school program will
be actively involved in the pre & race day activities

The Somerville Striders Athletic Club has been working with the
Somerville High School Football team for 10+ years and the tradition continues

The Somerville High School Soccer Program got
involved in 2008 and they are back in 2009!

The Somerville Auxiliary Police
Department is the best in the World..and we are lucky
to have em' in Somerville -The Somerville Striders Athletic Club started
donating money to this
great Somerville organization 10+ years ago and the tradition continues-

Not everyone can get
into The Burren, Redbones, Orleans Bar & Restaurant, The Sligo, Joshua Tree, Five
Horses Tavern
& The
Foundry
in Davis Square....avoid waiting in line and
support all of the great sponsoring pubs!!
-we want everyone to enjoy the post race scene, reason we have gotten so many
pubs
to participate, you can help us out by picking a pub to hang at outside of Davis
Square-
If I was running this event..I would pick P.J. Ryans in Teele Square, the Olde Magoun Saloon or On the Hill
Tavern in Magoun Square,
The
Pub in Ball Square, The Independent, Sally O'Brien's, The Precinct Bar & Bull McCabes in Union Square,
Joe Sent Me on Mass Ave in North Cambridge or visit Mikey ovah at The Druid in
Inman Square-Cambridge as the best places to rest
post race!!
They are all within walking or
jogging distance, (quick cab)..parking is
close by and there should be no lines!! There
will be long lines at all
the immediate Davis Square Pubs..and thats NO BLARNEY!!

Santa
Claus & His Elves Cash Prize Challenge

You need to be present to receive the
costume cash
prize - and it is a priority for you to head directly to
The Burren post race to get in.....do your 10 mile cool down some other day:>)
15. Race Results

Results will be posted on the event web site
on Monday December 19, 2011 - there will be no day of
race posting due to the lack of a central location to post at
- Enjoy the Post Scene, worry about
race results on Monday -
16. The Race is Sold Out & Bibs are Non-Transferable
Please
do not encourage friends and family to run without a bib nor give
your bib to others because you can not participate! Both jeopardize our
insurance!
**it has become all to common for folks to give their bibs to others
and then that person
places high in the results and many times
fouls up the results for a deserving person-it has become a
huge
problem especially when women give their bibs to men!!
17. Cancellation Issue

I
have a great relationship with "the gal" above...okay she could be
a
he and if so, I'll have to hear from him eventually but for this conversation,
I will call her the "gal above" and sometimes she has dropped a doozy of a
weather
day on me
and my events..I have battled everyone going back 19 years and have fared
fairly
well....but if we have a really bad day and the decision is made to cancel our
policy is below!
There will be no refunds (tees, medals, awards, insurance, details,
beneficiary donations, promotion, etcetera already paid)
however we will make every opportunity to get you your tee shirt and
finisher medal if you do not pick up at one of the pre-race pick-ups
(times and locations to be announced
(we will not mail out) AND if we can re-schedule we will.
-Rescheduling would be the ultimate
goal-
